How much is Enforcement membership to Law Enforcment United?

The first year Membership Fee is $125.00. In order to sustain membership, members will be required to pay $25.00 annually. Membership is due on July 1st of each year. Dues not paid within the grace period will result in suspension of membership.

How does Law Enforcement United support COPS and ODMP?
|
| Answer: |
Law Enforcement United holds several fundraising events all over the country and is also supported by corporate donors to raise money for COPS and ODMP. Our biggest fundraising event that many LEU members participate in a bicycle ride event called the "Road to Hope". The Road to Hope is a 240 mile memorial bicycle ride. Money raised from this event will be donated to both organizations. Monetary funds raised throughout the year sponsor many events with both of these organizations.

Question: What is the "Road to Hope" memorial ride? Who can participate?
Answer: The Road to Hope memorial ride is a annual event held each May. It is a 3 day
bicycle ride event that travels Eligibility Washington D.C.
LEU "Road To Hope" Eligiblity Functions
Must be at least 18 years of age to participate. Only LEU members will be allowed to accompany the riders and support staff along the route, and at designated stops.

Do I have to participate in the bicycle ride to be a member of Law Enforcement United?

No. The Law Enforcement United Memorial Bicycle Ride is one of the largest events we currently have planned, but there will be many other opportunities to actively contribute to and participate in the organization. There are different levels of membership you can participate as to be a part of the LEU Family.

Question: How many routes does Law Enforcement United have?
Answer: Law Enforcement United's National Division is home based in Virginia and route
leaves from Chesapeake, VA. The Pennsylvania Division is our newest division
operates out of Reading, PA. Both divisions have several out of town/state teams
that travel to the route starting location to join the ride. Both divisions meet and
join together during day 3 and will ride in to the arrival ceremony- united.
Question: Once I join as a new member how do I register for the ride?
Answer: Once membership is approved, there will be a registration link for you to register for
the route. There are limited spaces available, so don't delay!

Out of town members will need to arrive in either Chesapeake, VA or Reading, PA (depending on which route they registered for) on Tuesday May 8th. All Members must be present on Wednesday May 9th for the registration check-in, and mandatory medical and safety meeting.

How much money is required of each member? When is it due?
|

Members that are eligible and planning to ride are required to raise a minimum of $1250.00. Members planning to participate with the support teams are required to raise a minimum of $625.00. All money raised must be turned in or postmarked by April 1st of each year in order to be able to participate in the upcoming ride. Members must be 18 years of age to participate.

How far is the Ride?
|
| Answer: |
The VA Route: The entire 2 1/2 day ride is approximately 240 miles. The first day is about 110 miles; however, it is almost entirely flat. The next two days are about 70 miles each and consist of some rolling hills, with moderate inclines. Training is highly encouraged!
The PA Route: Is approximately 200 miles. However this ride is challenging, with multiple elevations. Training for this route is highly advised and may not be suitable for beginners without proper training.

We aim for 15 MPH. You should train for or be comfortable riding 14-16 MPH for a distance of 25 miles with some brief stops.
